Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add the mustard seeds, chillies and curry leaves, cook for about 20-30 seconds.
  • When the seeds splutter add the onion, tomato and gently sauté for 5-7 minutes or until soft and just golden.
  • Stir in the turmeric, coriander and salt to taste.
  • Add the potatoes and sauté for 5 minutes, add little hot water if needed.
  • The potatoes should be moist.          
  • Stir in the dried mango powder and lemon juice and serve hot.


  • 550 grams potatoes, boiled 
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, siced
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 25 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried mango powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown mustard seeds
  • 3 small, dried red chillies, lightly crushed    
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Few fresh curry leaves
