Preparation Method :

  • Soak tamarind in water for ½ an hour. Remove seeds and strain.
  • Roast cumin seeds on hot griddle for a minute. Grind into powder
  • Peel the potatoes and cut into 5 roundels each.
  • Cut each roundel from the middle to give the shape of semicircle.
  • Add tamarind, cumin powder, salt, rock salt and red chili powder.


  • Lemon sized tamarind
  • 200 ml water
  • 3 tablespoons cumin seeds
  • 8 boiled potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon rock salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
