Preparation Method :

  • Mix the Dashi granules with the measured water.
  • Heat sesame oil and stir-fry onion for a minute. Add potatoes and mix well to ensure potatoes are well coated with sesame oil.
  • Pour in soy sauce and Dashi liquid. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Turn potatoes occasionally and make sure they are evenly cooked.
  • Transfer potatoes and onion to a serving bowl. Pour sauce over and serve immediately.


  • 1 tablespoon Idhayam sesame oil
  • 1 brown onion, small, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 750 grams, baby potatoes, unpeeled, washed, and scrubbed
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dashi granules
  • 150 ml water
