BATATA VADA

Preparation Method :

  • Add coriander seeds, turmeric powder, and 1 teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon red chili powder to the gram flour. Make a batter using water.
  • Add soda bi carbonate. Set aside.
  • Peel and mash the potatoes and add 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, garam masala, coriander leaves, and pomegranate seeds, cashew nuts, lemon juice and sugar.
  • Divide the potatoes into 8 equal portions. Make balls.
  • Preheat oil in a medium sized frying pan over high heat.
  • Dip the potato balls in the batter and deep fry 4 at a time over medium heat till they turn golden brown.

  • 300 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 10 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • A pinch of soda bi carbonate 
  • 6 boiled potatoes
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala 
  • 4 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds
  • 10 blanched cashew nuts
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 250 ml peanut oil for deep-frying
