Preparation Method :

  • Cut potatoes into 8 mm slices, then into 8mm strips or finer, if you prefer.
  • Place chips in large bowl, cover with water, stand 30 minutes; drain.
  • Dry chips thoroughly with clean tea- towel before frying.
  • Heat enough oil in deep frying pan to come halfway up side of pan.
  • Add chips gradually in batches, so oil will not spatter.
  • Cook for a few minutes or until chips barely change colour; drain well on absorbent paper.
  • Reheat oil, fry chips again in batches until lightly browned.
  • Drain well on absorbent paper, serve immediately.



  • 1.5 kg old potatoes, peeled
  • Peanut oil for deep-frying
