Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and fry shallots until golden brown, drain and add to the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper and spring onion.
  • Shape it into 8-10 equal size balls.
  • Flatten balls into thick cutlets. Dip potato cutlets into beaten egg and deep-fry in hot oil for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Drain well and serve.


  • 4 potatoes, washed, cooked, drained, peeled and mashed
  • 8 shallots, peeled and finely sliced
  • 1 spring onion, finely sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • IDHAYAM MANTRA peanut oil for deep-frying
  • Ground white pepper and salt to taste
