Preparation Method :

  • Peel and mash potatoes, add salt, white pepper, green chilies, onion and coriander leaves.
  • Divide into 6 equal portions. Make balls. Press gently in between.
  • Make a medium consistency paste of gram flour using water. Add a little salt.
  • Preheat oil over high heat in a medium frying pan. Dip the potato balls and deep fry till golden brown.
  • Add red chilies and bay leaf. Add onion paste, ginger paste, garlic paste and fry over high heat for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt and fry till tomatoes are mashed. Add remaining water, cover and bring to a boil.
  • Add fried potatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Garnish with the remaining coriander leaves.


  • 8 large sized boiled potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper 
  • 2 chopped green chili
  • 2 finely chopped onion 
  • 300 grams chopped coriander leaves 
  • 400 grams gram flour
  • 600 ml water
  • 200 ml IDHAYAM MANTRA peanut oil
  • 4 red chilies
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 200 grams onion paste
  • 2 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 4 chopped tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
