This delicious relish can be served with any savoury meal. Choose vine-ripened tomatoes, if you can, as they have a superior flavour.

15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Place the tomatoes in hot water for a few seconds. Lift each tomato out in turn, using a slotted spoon. The skins should have split, making it easy to remove them. Peel off carefully.
  • Cut the tomatoes in half, and squeeze out the seeds.
  • Chop the flesh roughly. Set them aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
  • Using a sharp knife, roughly chop the onion, green chilli, mint, and fresh coriander.
  • Place the herb mixture in a food processor with the Tabasco sauce, honey, salt, and lime juice.
  • Add the tomatoes to this and grind everything together for a few seconds.
  • Pour into a small serving bowl. Stir in the yogurt just before you serve the relish.


  • 2 medium firm tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 fresh green chilli
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander (cilantro) leaves
  • ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon clear honey
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons natural (plain) low-fat yogurt
