Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a large non-stick saucepan. Add the onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes or until soft and light golden.
  • Add the spices and cook for about half a minute.
  • Add the cooked vegetables and heat through for 2-3 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • Add the cooked rice and gently stir-fry for a minute or two. Stir in the lemon juice and fluff up the rice, serve hot.


  • 300 grams cooked rice
  • 250 grams cooked vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 each of green cardamom pod and bay leaf    
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds    
  • 1-2 cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice, to taste
