Preparation Method :

  • Clean, wash and soak the rice in water for 2 hours. Drain the water; spread out the rice and leave to dry.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan; add cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, and soft cottage cheese.
  • Cook till the cottage cheese is slightly golden brown in colour.
  •  Add the rice, saffron-milk mixture, salt, and water. Cover and cook on medium heat, till the rice is done and the water gets absorbed. Serve hot.



  • 250 grams Rice, Basmati
  • 50 grams Soft cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 2 Cloves  
  • 2 Green cardamoms
  • 1 Cinnamon, 1" stick
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • A pinch Saffron (kesar), soaked in 2 teaspoon milk
  • Salt to taste
