Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan (skillet). Cut the steak into fine slivers and stir-fry for 3 minutes; remove and reserve.
  • Add the bacon and cook until crisp; remove and reserve. Add the onions and spices and fry until the onion is golden, then return the steak and bacon to pan with salt, pineapple and rice.
  • Cook, stirring, over a medium heat for 5 minutes until rice is heated through.
  • Serve immediately with side dishes of salted peanuts and desiccated coconut. 


  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 700 gram beef topside
  • 4 rashers fatty bacon, chopped
  • 4 medium onions, sliced into rings 
  • 4 teaspoons curry powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves 
  • ½ teaspoon mixed spice 
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ring canned pineapple chopped
  • 300 gram cooked rice
