Preparation Method :

  • Soak the beans separately overnight. Drain and place in separate pans. Cover with cold water, bring to the boil and boil steadily for 15 minutes.
  • Lower the heat, cover and simmer for 2 hours, adding a little salt towards the end of cooking; drain.
  • Cook the French beans in boiling salted water for 7 to 8 minutes; drain.
  • Place all the beans in a bowl and mix in the onions and dressing while still warm. Leave to cool.
  • Stir in the chopped parsley and transfer to a salad bowl to serve.


  • 200 grams butter beans 
  • 200 grams red kidney beans 
  • 200 grams haricot beans
  • Salt
  • 200 grams French beans cut into 1 inch lengths
  • 10 spring onions, chopped
  • 8 tablespoons French dressing 
  • 4 tablespoons chopped parsley
