Preparation Method :

  • Dry-fry the sesame seeds in a small heavy-based pan until they turn golden. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Put the ginger, vinegar, sugar, tamari and salt in a small bowl and blend together until smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
  • Pour into a small serving bowl and stir in the sesame seeds and chives.
  • Leave to stand at room temperature for at least 1 hour. 


  • 4 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 100 grams peeled fresh ginger root, chopped very finely
  • 6 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon tamari
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon snipped chives
