Preparation Method :

  • Put the milk in a small heavy saucepan; add the vanilla essence and heat to just under boiling point. Then remove the vanilla pod (if used), wipe it dry and store.
  • Beat the eggs until they become lemon coloured.
  • Then pour a small amount of hot milk over the eggs, stir and set aside.
  • Cook the rest of the milk over a slow flame for about 20 minutes or until thick.
  • Remove from heat, stir in the sugar and let it cool.
  • Fold in the whipped cream gradually.
  • Then add to the custard and serve chilled.


  • 400 grams milk
  • 100 grams sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 75 grams cream, whipped stiff
  • 3 eggs
