Preparation Method :

  • Heat the ghee in a large heavy-bottomed pan and fry the onion, garlic and parsley gently.
  • Add the chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric, coconut and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add the tomatoes and fry gently on a low flame until tender. Add the lemon juice and keep it aside for 2 hours.
  • Heat the mixture on a low flame for 5 minutes and add the fish pieces.
  • Cook covered for about 8-10 minutes on a low flame and take care not to break the fillets.


  • 500 grams cod fish, cleaned
  • 3 Tomatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 Onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice    
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon desiccated Coconut  
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder    
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder    
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder      
  • 3-4 cloves minced Garlic     
  • 2 teaspoon minced Parsley  
  • Salt to taste
