Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a wok or pan, Reduce heat and add onion seeds, dried red chilies, garlic and onion. Stir- fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Mix in the tomatoes, shredded coconut, salt and coriander powder.
  • Add the fish pieces to the mixture and turn gently to cook evenly. Simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the water, lime juice and chopped coriander. Cook further for 5 minutes or until the water evaporates.
  • Remove to a serving dish and serve hot.


  • 5 Fish fillets (sole/plain), cut into 4 pieces each
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Onion seeds 
  • 4 Red chilies, whole, dried
  • 3 Garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 2 Tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut, shredded
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 150 ml Water
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon Green coriander, chopped
