Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish with salt for about half an hour. Heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds. When it splutters add garlic and onions. Fry till transparent.
  • Add the coconut milk and bring to a boil. Add curry leaves and the fish pieces. Simmer till the fish is tender. Sprinkle seasoning and lemon juice.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.


  • 750 grams Fish fillets, cleaned and rinsed 
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon juice 
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds 
  • 220 grams onions, thinly sliced
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

Coconut Mixture

  • 250 ml Thick coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoon Green chillies ground to a paste
  • ¾ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Rice powdered
  • Salt to taste
