Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion till golden brown. Add the ground masala paste and fry till the oil separates.
  • Add the tomato puree and blend thoroughly. Add the fish pieces and add water if desired, cook till done. Add the potatoes, cook for few more minutes.


  • 500 grams fish slices, cleaned and rinsed    
  • 4 Tomatoes, pureed    
  • 1 Onion, chopped    
  • 3 Potatoes, boiled, peeled and chopped    
  • 45 ml IDHAYAM Sesame Oil    
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a fine paste

  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds, roasted
  • 1 teaspoon Poppy seeds, roasted
  • 10 - 12 Green chillies    
  • ½ " piece Ginger    
  • 4-6 cloves Garlic    
  • Small ball Tamarind    
  • 1" piece Cinnamon, roasted
  • 2-3 Cloves, roasted
