Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish in the rice wine, corn flour and salt for about an hour.
  • Heat half a cup of oil and fry the fish one at a time over medium flame on both sides. Remove and drain well. Place in a serving dish.
  • The Sauce: Heat half a cup of oil in a large pan, stir fry the spring onions and ginger.
  • Add all the other ingredients for the sauce and cook till the sauce thickens. Pour the sauce over the cooked fish. Serve immediately.


  • 475 grams Pomfrets whole, rinsed and drained    
  • 50 grams Corn flour
  • 90 ml Rice wine
  • ¼ teaspoon Ajinomoto    
  • Cooking Oil to fry    
  • Salt to taste    

For the sauce    

  • 50grams finely chopped Spring onions    
  • 50 ml Tomato ketchup        
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped Ginger
  • 50 ml Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper    
  • Salt and sugar to taste
