Preparation Method :

  • Boil, steam or microwave potatoes until tender.
  • Poach, steam or microwave fish until cooked through; chop fish roughly.
  • Blend or process potatoes, fish, parsley and onion until smooth.
  • Transfer mixture to medium bowl of electric mixer, add eggs and flour, beat until well combined.
  • Deep-fry tablespoons of mixture in batches in hot oil, turning occasionally, 3 minutes or until browned.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve with tomato chili sauce.

Tomato Chili Sauce:

  • Finely chop tomatoes. Melt butter in pan, add onion, chilies and garlic, cook, stirring, until onion is soft.
  • Stir in tomatoes, simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened; stir in parsley.



  • 500 grams potatoes, peeled, chopped
  • 200 grams smoked fish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 50 grams onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 50 grams plain flour
  • Peanut oil for deep-frying

Tomato Chili Sauce

  • 250 grams tomatoes, peeled, seeded
  • 50 grams butter
  • 150 grams onion, finely chopped
  • 2 small fresh red chilies, seeded, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
