Preparation Method :

  • Rub salt and lemon juice over the fish pieces and keep aside for at least 1-2 hours.
  • Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl except the chaat masala and oil.
  • Dip the fish pieces in the batter and allow them to stand for another half an hour.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan and deep fry the fish pieces over medium heat.
  • Sprinkle the fish with chaat masala and serve, accompanied by sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and lemon wedges.


  • 1 kg Fish, cut into thin slices
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 2 teaspoon White pepper  powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric  powder
  • 120 grams Gram flour  
  • 120 grams Garlic-ginger paste  
  • 50 ml White vinegar
  • 500 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
