Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onions lightly. Add the ground masala paste. Fry well.
  • Add measured water with salt, vinegar and bring to a boil. Then add the fish pieces, simmer till done. Serve hot.


  • 1.5 kg Cod fish, cleaned, cut into pieces, rinsed and drained
  • 350 ml water
  • 150 grams Onion, chopped
  • Vinegar to taste
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a fine paste

  • 50 grams onions
  • 1 teaspoon roasted Cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon roasted Mustard seeds  
  • 15-20 Dry red chillies    
  • ½ " piece Turmeric    
  • 10-12 roasted Peppercorns  
  • 4-6 cloves Garlic
