Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the mackerel pieces with salt for half an hour.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan, add the ground masala paste with garlic paste and fry for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the mackerel pieces and adjust seasoning with salt. Simmer till done.


  • 1 kg Medium-sized mackerels, cleaned and cut into large pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste    
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut oil    
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a fine paste

  • Red chillies, to taste    
  • 2 -3 cubeb pepper/ Allspice
  • 1 " piece Ginger    
  • Lemon- sized ball Tamarind
