There are many recipes you can prepare on your lunch and dinner, but only few of these recipes can only provide you the complete ingredients that give healthy compounds. Good thing to know that Soused Mullet is recipe that can give you the healthy ingredients that need by your body.
Serves :

Preparation Time :

40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Remove the fish heads, cut off the fillets and remove any bones. Place slices of onion on the centre of each fillet and roll up, skin side out, from head to tail and fix with a cocktail stick.
  • Place the rolled fish in a heavy flameproof casserole or pot with the bay leaves, clove, all spice or peppercorns and salt.
  • Pour over the vinegar and just cover with water. Cover and cook over a low- heat for 2 hours or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
  • Transfer the fish to a deep serving dish so that the fish can be covered with liquid.
  • Strain over sufficient cooking liquid to cover the fish. Cool, and then chill in the refrigerator, where the liquor will set into a soft jelly.
  • Serve !


  • 8 small mullet, cleaned and thoroughly scaled 
  • 2 onion, peeled and sliced
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 clove
  • 8 allspice berries or peppercorns 
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 250 ml vinegar 
  • Water, to cover
