Preparation Method :

  • Mix half the ginger-garlic paste, salt and lemon juice. Marinate prawns in this mixture for half an hour.
  • Heat mustard oil in a wok (kadhai). Add the whole spices and saute. Add onions and saute till transparent. Add tomatoes, green chilies and half the coriander powder. Stir-fry for 5-10 minutes.
  • Stir in salt to taste, red chili, coriander and cumin powders, garam masala and turmeric. Stir-fry for another 5-10 minutes. Add prawns and stir-fry till cooked. Serve, garnished with ginger and coriander.


  • 650 grams Prawns, peeled
  • Red chili powder to taste
  • Mustard oil for frying
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger, long, thin strips
  • 5 teaspoon Green coriander , chopped
  • 75 grams Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Onion seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 4 Whole red chillies
  • A pinch Coriander seeds
  • 150 grams Onions, sliced
  • 100 grams Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies, chopped
  • A pinch Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
