Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a wok. Saute mustard seeds until they crackle. Add curry leaves, garlic slivers and chopped onions. Stir-fry till the onions are smooth.
  • Stir in all the other ingredients except coconut milk. Cook till the oil separates and appears on the surface. Add water as and when necessary to cook the curry.
  • Add the coconut milk along with the shrimps. Stir- fry till the shrimps are cooked and the curry has thickened. Remove from heat and Serve hot with roti.


  • 500 grams Shrimps, peeled
  • 75 ml Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 Curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Garlic, slivered
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 Coconut, fresh, grated
  • 2 teaspoon Cumin, whole
  • 200 ml Coconut milk
  • 4 Onions, chopped
  • 1 Green chili, chopped
  • Salt to taste
