The gingered fish is cooked with flavored ingredients such as fish fillet, butter, brown sugar, white wine, fresh root ginger, and other palatable flavorings. This special dish is extremely best for special events and everyone will surely never resist its delicious taste.

Preparation Method :

  • Cut the fish into serving pieces. Place the fish on a plate and sprinkle with the lemon rind and juice. Leave for 15 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the onion and ginger and cook gently until golden but not browned.
  • Add the cloves, brown sugar and wine, then push mixture to one side and add the fish and marinating juices.
  • Add salt and pepper and spoon the onion mixture over the fish. Cover tightly and cook on a low heat for 8 to 10 minutes until the fish flakes easily.
  • Garnish with spring onions (scallions) and serve immediately with plain boiled rice and a cucumber salad.


  • 1 kilo grams white fish fillets grated rind and juice of 1 lemon 
  • 100 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 2 small onion, finely chopped 
  • 5 cm piece fresh root ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon dry white wine
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 spring onions, shredded, to garnish
