Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, cardamoms and mace and saute till they crackle.
  • Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger and slit green chillies. Cook till the onions are soft. Adjust seasoning.
  • Place the prawns in an oven-proof dish and pour the prepared mixture on top.
  • Add the curry leaves and cream to the mixture.
  • Seal the dish with aluminium foil and cook in a preheated oven (175 °C / 350 °F) for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven; garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot, accompanied by any Indian bread.


  • 750 grams Prawns, shelled, deveined
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 300 grams Cream
  • 3 Onions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon Garlic
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger long, thin strips
  • 2 Green chillies, slit
  • 3 Green cardamoms  
  • 3 Mace   
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Curry leaves
