Home-made fish fingers & sweet potato wedges is combined with numerous ingredients like thick cod fillets, flour, sweet potato wedges, frozen peas and other essential flavorings. This dish has its own unique ways of impressing other people. Each bite is extremely irresistible.

Preparation Method :

  • To make the potato wedges, preheat the oven. Dry the sweet potato wedges on a clean tea towel.
  • Place the oil in a roasting tin and heat tor a few minutes in the oven.
  • Arrange the potatoes in the tin and bake for 30-35 minutes, turning them halfway through, until tender and golden.
  • Meanwhile, cut the cod into strips about 2-inch wide. Put the flour onto a plate, add the paprika and season to taste.
  • Put the breadcrumbs onto a second plate. Roll the cod strips in the seasoned flour until coated, shaking off any excess, then dip them in the beaten egg.
  • Roll the cod strips in the breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  • Heat enough oil to cover the base of a large, non-stick frying pan.
  • Carefully arrange the fish fingers in the pan - you may have to cook them in batches - and fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side or until crisp and golden.
  • Drain on kitchen paper before serving, if necessary.
  • Serve the fish fingers with the sweet potato wedges and peas.


  • 300 grams thick cod fillets, skin and bones removed 
  • Flour, for dusting
  • 2 teaspoon paprika
  • Fresh breadcrumbs or fine cornmeal, for coating
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • IDHAYAM sesame Oil, for frying
  • Fresh or frozen peas, cooked, to serve
  • Sweet Potato wedges
  • 500 grams sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • Salt and pepper
