Preparation Method :

  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Saute cardamoms and bayleaf.
  • Add ginger and garlic pastes and saute for a minute.
  • Add red chilli paste and coriander powder. Stir-fry for another minute and remove from heat.
  • Add all the other ingredients except for lemon juice, together with the fish.
  • Transfer this mixture to an oven-proof dish. Cover and seal the dish with dough.
  • Place the dish in an oven at low temperature and allow to cook for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle lemon juice over the fish.
  • Serve hot, accompanied by steamed rice.


  • 500 grams Fish cut into boneless cubes
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 4 Green cardamoms
  • 1 Bay leaf 
  • 1½ teaspoon Ginger, paste
  • 1½ teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli paste
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoon Yellow chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon Poppy seed paste
  • 2 tablespoon Cashew nut paste
  • 2 tablespoon Brown onion paste
  • 250 grams Yoghurt 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon Juice
