Preparation Method :

  • Whisk all the ingredients with yoghurt and egg yolks to make a smooth paste.
  • Coat the fish with the yoghurt paste and leave to marinate for at least 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 175°C/350 °F. Skewer the fish from mouth to tail. Roast for 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Drain the excess liquid. Baste with butter and roast again for 3 minutes. Serve at once with salad.


  • 500 grams Pomfrets, Cleaned, washed, incised and dried
  • 3 tablespoon Yoghurt, drained
  • 3 tablespoon Cream
  • 4 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 4 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 1 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoon Gram flour 
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 Eggs, yolks
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil for basting
