HOT CORNED BEEF ON RYE

20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Toast the bread on one side only. Mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Tabasco (hot pepper) sauce, onions (scallions) and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread on untoasted side of bread. Divide sauerkraut evenly between slices and top with corned beef and cheese.
  • Grill (broil) for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 thick slices rye bread
  • 8 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 teaspoons tomato ketchup dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 200 grams sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
  • 8 slices corned beef
  • 8 slices Gruyere or Jarlsberg cheese
