Preparation Method :

  • Put the egg and milk into a small bowl and beat with a fork.
  • Add the flour and baking powder and beat until smooth. Stir in the sweet corn, cheese and chives.
  • Heat a little oil in a frying pan and drop either teaspoonfuls or tablespoonfuls of the batter into it.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until the fritters are puffed up and golden.
  • Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Serve with the extra sweet corn and mini carrot sticks.


  • 2 egg
  • 300 ml milk
  • 200 grams plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 150 grams canned sweet corn kernels without salt or sugar, drained, plus extra to serve
  • 6 tablespoon grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoon snipped fresh chives
  • 4 teaspoon IDHAYAM sesame oil, for frying
  • Mini carrot sticks, to serve
