Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/ 350°F. Cook the sweet potatoes by adding a pinch of salt in the water for about 10 - 12 minutes or until tender. Drain.
  • Place ham steaks in a lightly greased baking dish and arrange sweet potato slices around them.
  • Combine the butter with of the honey and ginger, drizzle over ham steaks.
  • Pour pineapple juice around ham and sweet potatoes and drizzle remaining honey over the sweet potatoes.
  • Bake at least for 15 - 20 minutes, basting several times with juice and serve with green salad.


  • 250 grams ham steaks, cut into quarters
  • 2 small sweet potatoes, thickly sliced
  • 100 ml pineapple or orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
