Preparation Method :

  • Top and tail the beans and string if necessary. Cut the beans into 4 cm/ 1 ½ inch lengths. Combine the garlic, lemon juice, salt and cayenne.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the crushed cumin or coriander seeds and fry for a few seconds. Add the beans and sauté briskly for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the garlic mixture, cover tightly, and cook over a low heat for 10 minutes or until just tender. Increase the heat, remove the cover and stir constantly until the liquid has evaporated.
  • Serve immediately.


  • 500 gram green beans 
  • 2 clove garlic, chopped 
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper 
  • 250 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin or coriander seeds, crushed
