Preparation Method :

  • Pour half the melted butter into a small shallow ovenproof casserole dish.
  • Arrange the asparagus in the dish and top with the cheeses, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  • Top with the breadcrumbs and spoon over the remaining butter.
  • Cook in a preheated moderate oven (180°C / 350°F, Gas Mark 4) for 20 minutes, until piping hot.


  • 100 gram butter, melted 
  • 500 gram asparagus spears, drained 
  • 50 gram Parmesan cheese, grated 
  • 100 gram Cheddar cheese, grated 
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 50 gram fresh breadcrumbs
