Preparation Method :

  • Boil the balsam pear in water until cooked. Remove and immerse in cold water immediately. Take out and drain the water then set aside.
  • Stir-fry the chili curry paste with hot oil until aromatic then add the shrimp and stir-fry together until lightly cooked.
  • Add the cereal cream and season with fish sauce and palm sugar.
  • Add the balsam pear followed with kaffir lime leaves and cayenne pepper. Once boiling, remove from heat and place in a bowl. Serve immediately.



  • 400 grams Balsam pear, thinly sliced length ways
  • 200 grams Medium-sized fresh shrimp, peeled and cut along the back
  • 50 grams Chili curry paste Fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Palm sugar
  • 100 ml Water
  • 400 grams Cereal cream
  • 3 leaves Kaffir lime leaves
  • 2 tablespoon IDHAYAM Sesame Oil
  • 1 piece of each Red and yellow cayenne pepper, diagonally sliced
