CHESTNUT ROASTED RICE

Another interesting, creative and tasteful Asian dish, the Chestnut Roasted Rice. If you’re in the mood to be adventurous and to impress every one with your kitchen skills, go ahead and prepare this dish. And be ready for success. It’s light and vegetarian and good for any party.

8 minutes

Cooking Time :
10 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Rinse the Rice 3 times very well, put it in Water and leave it soaking for 30-60 minutes.
  • Then simmer the Chestnuts in boiling water for about 10-15 minutes, adding a small amount of Salt while boiling. Then pour them in cold Water and peel off the shell. Place them in a container and set aside.
  • Then pour the soaked Rice in a strainer and get rid of all the excess water. Put the Rice in an electric rice cooker, add fresh water and flavor it with the Japanese Soybean Sauce, the Mirin and the Sake. Using a wooden spatula, gently stir the Rice to blend the mixture together. Now place the Chestnuts over the Rice, close the lid, and start the cooker. Done, now serve with grated Carrots and shredded Cauliflowers.

INGREDIENTS

  • 600 grams of cooked Japanese Rice
  • 600 grams of fresh Water
  • 800 grams of raw Chestnuts
  • 3 Tablespoons of Japanese Soybean Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sake
  • 2 Tablespoons of Mirin
  • Ground Salt
