The Squid Salad is another favorite in the Asian Cuisine. A fresh and light flavorful combination of Squid and Vegetables will give you energy as well as a light and fit body. Stay healthy and enjoy.

Preparation Method :

  • How to prepare the Squid: Peel off the outer skin of the Squid and rinse out the insides of the tubes. Wash the entire Squid very well. Cut each tube in half and open the pieces out. Score the inside of each Squid with diagonal cuts to make a diamond pattern and cut them into squares.
  • Dry fry the Sesame Seeds in a frying pan over medium heat. Shake the pan to move the Seeds around for 3 - 4 minutes or until they are lightly browned, then spoon the Seeds in a small bowl.
  • Heat up some Water in a saucepan and bring it to boil. Now add the Squid and cook it for 2 - 3 minutes, then drain (if you cook a big squid for too long it will be tough). You can save the liquid and use it later as stock.
  • Now toss the Squid, the Tomatoes, the Shallots, the Ginger, the Spring Onions, the Chillis and the Garlic in the Lime Juice and Fish Sauce and mix it all well together. Taste and adjust the seasoning as preferred.
  • Now also mix in the Coriander and Salad Leaves and pile them on to each serving plate. Spoon the Squid mixture over the mixed leaves and sprinkle the dish with the fried Sesame Seeds.


  • 250 Grams of Squid Tubes
  • ½ Tablespoon of  White Sesame Seeds
  • 3 Cherry Tomatoes cut in half
  • 1 Finely sliced Shallot
  • 1 Piece of Fresh Ginger Root (1 inch) peeled and finely shredded
  • 2 Finely sliced Spring Onions
  • 2 Finely chopped Red Chillis
  • 2 Finely chopped Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Tablespoons of Lime Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon of Fish Sauce


  • ¼ Handful of Coriander Leaves 1 Handful of Mixed Salad Leaves
