Preparation Method :

  • Remove the skin, bone and spines of the sardines.
  • Chop the eggs finely.
  • Place the sardines in a bowl and mash finely with the eggs and add the celery.
  • Beat the soured cream well together with milk and lemon juice or vinegar.
  • For preparing the dressing, add the chives, salt and pepper to the cream mixture.
  • Refrigerate for 15 minutes before using.
  • Pour the dressing into the sardine mixture.
  • Place the lettuce leaves on serving plate and then serve the salad.
  • Garnish with paprika and lemon wedges.


  • 2 Round lettuce, shredded
  • 250 grams Sardines packed in olive oil
  • 4 Eggs, hard boiled
  • 2 Celery, washed and thinly sliced
  • 300 ml Soured cream
  • 2 Tablespoon Milk
  • 2 Tablespoon Lemon juice or vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Icing sugar
  • 6 Tablespoon Chives, snipped
  • 4 Lemon wedges, for garnish
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • Pepper as per taste
  • Paprika to garnish
